The sole requirement to their children is to study hard, do well in various examinations and get enrolled in a prestigious university. They believe that what they do is good for their children, as only having good grades can guarantee a bright future in a fiercely competitive society in China. The Chinese parents also hold the opinion that they will be respected if their children achieve great success. Accordingly, they are willing to sacrifice their time, hobbies and interests to creating better conditions for their children.
